Hi there!
My name is Heather and about 9 months ago I became a mother. My daughter has now been on the outside just as long as she was on the inside. Naturally, it’s put me in a reflective mood. I’ve been thinking about my induction into the club of motherhood and what it’s meant to me as an individual. How has it changed me? How have I maintained my sense of self?
I’ve stopped sleeping soundly, showering on a regular basis and having any personal time whatsoever……I can’t even use the washroom in private. But one thing hasn’t changed. It may have even become stronger, more ingrained into my mind. My sense of creativity.
Having a baby has put a whole new spin on my world. I can’t see things around me in the same light as I once did. Now, when I sit down to write or create anything, my baby is on my mind. I’m sure it’s the same for many other women, creative women. This blog will be centered around these artists. Who they are, how they work considering family life and what being a creative soul means to them. I hope you enjoy it.

Love, love, love your idea, Heather! Isn’t it amazing how motherhood changes you in a way you never imagined? Nothing is ever the same again; nothing is ever good enough again. ~jen
Heather,
I finally got to your site despite my computer problems, which are difficult to fix because I am an old Luddite and my techie is experiencing his own problems with Mother, yes, mother of his kids, but she don’ wan’ him no mo.
This rises not an altogether poetic response from me. Ode dear!
Your new site is beautiful.
Creativity will out!
Margaret Atwood has had two children since partnering up with Graeme Gibson, her now- husband. She has much to say about pregnancy and the rasing of children, told largely in column form to Rebecca Eckler lately of the National Post newspaper.
Unfortunately, Mz. Eckler has been
laid off by the Post and her columns on motherhood will be hard to find.
Well. Maternal Spark. This will bring readers.
If the National Post has run an entire series on motherhood with great success, your new blog here
shows even greater promise.
Your concept is proven: It will work and work well.
Congratulations!
…Hope this note gets through all right while I fight Microsoft, who seems intent on shutting me down or something.
I have advised my “Quarks”, my “handmaidens” at my blog to visit Heather here.
