kinds of things but now that I’m raising a little girl, I tend to see things a little differently. Earlier I was watching American Idol, yes, you heard me right and I am a little ashamed so just let it go alright? So I’m watching TV and this Extra gum commercial comes on. The copy reads “Go from big gut to nice butt” Then there is something about how the gum is a 5 calorie snack.

It’s GUM, you chew on it, there is NO nutritional value. #2 Gum does nothing to cause you to lose weight. You might burn the 5 calories whilst chewing the product but I’m sure it’s not going to get rid of your gut. If I wanted to put anymore mental energy into this topic I’m sure I could find at least a gazillion more reasons as to why this commercial is offensive but, it doesn’t deserve what little brain power I have left at midnight. I’d rather go to bed. I’ll call that exercise, I hope my gut is gone in the morning. Night all.

I’m with ya on the gum though. I saw the advert and thought “how many morons will pick up the phone watching this?” My guess is, ALOT. You just really have to wonder sometimes.
Haven’t seen the commercial but I feel the same way about A.I. I’m hanging my head in shame…
I think so many of us don’t even realize what the commercials say..I go blank when they come on..Since you bought it to my attention, will listen to it..I do think,what they say in their adds, they think we have no brains..
Would you believe, I have a t.v. like that in the barn..couldn’t throw it away..
The ad copy written for commercials is absolutely INANE. I do listen to it, if only for sheer comedic value, and the opportunity to rip it apart mercilessly.

I hate the advertising crap that you see that tries to make everything look as if it is good for you. It’s such nonsense. I sure wish there was “truth in advertising.”
I watch idol. and I have seen that commercial. Very strange. Someone got paid to think of that stupidity. If losing my gutt was that easy I would chew nonstop.

Now if I blow bubbles with my gum will it burn more calories? Just wondering!
If I chew gum while fast-forwarding through the commercials while watching American Idol will I burn more calories?
