Thanks, Heather. I was so pleased to see you there! About doing the voices: it occurred to me when I got ready for my first reading that adults are just big kids. I always did voices when my kids were little. Their favourite story was "The Squirrel Twins' Ride," because I did high, squeaky squirrels, a deep, deep old owl and as many other voices as there were animals.

:sigh: While, in my opinion, many good things came of my divorce, not being able to read to my sons every night when I put them to bed was not one of them.

Despite their ages, if they're willing, perhaps I'll do that when they come to visit me for a month starting a week from this Wednesday.

I loved reading to my boy when he was young, and I always did the voices, and even did voices for his stuffed animals. We had a lot of fun, although my voices certainly weren't that good.

I had a bear named Pinky too. I also had a white and orange bear. Guess what it's name was....Orangy.
I'll have to check out Tricia Dower. I am certainly a fan of short stories.
