Why toddlers shouldn’t use Pay Per View services – Heather’s POV

Bad Movie!

They have BAD taste! My sweet little H was in the TV room and I turned my back for 20 seconds to grab the vacuum cleaner (this is true hubs…evidence that I cleaned!) When I turned around a movie was starting on the tube. My darling daughter had managed to grab the remote and order something on pay per view. Thankfully, it was nothing her wee eyes would be damaged by. I can’t say the same for my brain.

She ordered “He’s Just Not That Into You.

We ended up watching it after she went to bed. You know, cause it was paid for and we had access to it for 24 hours. Why let a rental go to waste right?

Oh. My. God.

This movie makes me cry for women everywhere. Please do not let your daughters watch this. It’s nothing but a shallow portrayal of women with low self esteem. Sick ideals of what relationships should be and a pathetic excuse for a modern movie. It was BAD. Beyond bad.

I might have let it go if it was funny.  Or poignant or if the characters learned a dramatic lesson about what it is to be a strong, independent woman in a healthy relationship.  But no such luck here.  The only character who had sense enough to leave her cheating hubby ended up looking like a crazy, jealous, defeated girl.

Normally, I avoid these ‘rom-coms’ with every fibre of my being.  Even the term ‘rom-com’ makes me slightly nauseous. Normally, I pay no attention to them.  But these were not normal circumstances.  These were circumstances orchestrated by a quick witted toddler.  One who brought it to the very front of my mind how I’m raising a girl.  A girl who will be subjected to this junk as she grows.  I hereby vow to teach her some self respect as soon as she’s able to understand the concept.

Save yourselves and set that parental lock on your remotes now. If you ignore my warning, you do so at your own risk!

I have not seen this movie… I thought at least it would be funny? But yeah, you’re not the first one to have a review like this after seeing this movie! And I’m glad your daughter did not order anything worse than this! ;)

Hee hee… I love that your daughter all ready knows all the right buttons to push to order a movie. As you say, at least it was not X-rated or otherwise. She’s 3… 4 now?

I’m a little surprised the movie is so bad. The cast seemed quite good from what I remember. Then again, this isn’t the kind of movie I’d normally watch either. He’s really into BOOOOOMMM!!!!, now that’s a title I’d pay attention too!

Well, it is pretty funny that she knew the right buttons to push to get a movie. Someone had told me that the movie was good, but now I am beginning to wonder. I definitely will wait until it comes on TV ’cause I trust your opinion. AND I have three daughters so I can so understand what you mean without having seen it.
