This weekend we did something that we haven’t done in quite a while. We took some time out for simple fun. We ate food that was bad for us and we didn’t care. We spent some money we shouldn’t have and we didn’t care. We look little H to watch some pigs race at the Stampede Grounds and we browsed the stalls at the farmer’s market.
We left the to-do list at home.
I didn’t think about work. I didn’t think about blogging or emails or being creative. We just enjoyed each other and the simple summertime activities and it was wonderful.
It reminded me how important it is to check out every once in a while. Get some fresh air. Just be.
You should try it.

Taking that time is important for refueling and creativity, mood and spirit as well as contributing to bonding. It’s a great way to spend a weekend.
