I wrote a few days ago about how I recently obtained a new laptop. Shopping for a laptop is daunting. You start out on Google and the results are overwhelming. It’s hard to compare prices and it’s difficult to gather information without printing out a million pages. Am I the only one that gets lost on manufacturers websites? They often make them flashy instead of easy to navigate.
As luck would have it I find out about Pebble.com after I make my purchase.
On a side note, at the first store we went to (not the one I bought from) the sales guy, who was about 60, told me I should buy the blue one because it matched my eyes. I closed my pretty blue eyes and imagined punching him in the nutsack. Then hubby grabbed my arm and hauled me outta there we left. Before I actually punched him. Any sales people reading this….don’t patronize your customers. Ok?
Ahem.
Back to laptop shopping…
Here’s a blurb from the website:
Pebble.com makes online shopping fun again by offering everything you need in one place to make the best online buying decisions without the hassle of other comparative shopping websites. We provide a place where users can ask questions about specific products and get answers that will help inform their buying decisions.
And here’s a screen shot:
When you enter a search term it brings up a nice variety of retailers, brands etc so you can easily browse your options. I also LOVE how it shows pricing. This way, you can instantly rule out things that are out of your budget or include things that are. And the best part is you can ask questions to the staff and other shoppers of the site. How cool is that? Oh, and by the way, electronics aren’t the only items on the site. I even found potty chairs listed.
I’m all for shopping online and avoiding interactions with less than stellar sales staff whenever possible. If I can shop in my jammies, pay a good price and get all the info I need I’m one happy shopper!
Any of you have rotten sales staff stories to share? Let me know in comments so I know I’m not the only one who fantasizes about knocking some sense into them!
And now for the technical stuff….

Oh yes, I have sales staff stories but I won’t expound upon how I wanted to expound her head. Total incompetence it can sometimes be. I’m with you, if I can shop hassle here there, I’m checking it out! Thanks for the tip!
If I can do all my shopping online, I do. Oh, and the only time I’ve heard that “ah-hum – term” is when my DDs refer to it that way. Must be a new thing.
I need to start shopping online, there seems to be a lot more deals here than in stores!
Ive dealt with a few weird/annoying and even rude employees. Ill share my latest-I hope this doesn’t turn out into a novel:
A few months ago we went to a shoe store to get the twins new shoes. I found a cute pair of white/light pink shoes for my DD, asked the teenage girl working there to find me the shoe in a size 7- she goes to the back and comes out with size 7 shoe, but its slightly different for the pair i asked for. She goes back and comes back with another shoe-again different than the pair i asked for.
I told her it wasn’t the pair i wanted- she huffs & goes to the back. Comes out a few minutes later and says that they don’t have the exact pair I want in size 7.
JEEZ she could have said that on her first trip to the back instead of thinking I was too stupid not to notice the pair she was getting me wasn’t the one i was asking for!I couldn’t believe she “huffed” at me when she was wasting my time!!
hmm checking it out now since I have been lap top shopping and the more I shop the more confused I am.. that is why i still do not have one.
my latest rude employee story would be from our favorite pizza place.. well it was… we were regular customers there.. until one of the kids that worked there told us they would not be getting any more garlic butter in because “its not good for you” lol then offered me ranch. ummm I was not there for healthy “good for me” food… I wanted pizza and soda and garlic sauce… I do healthy at home.
