This blogging life? It’s a glam saga let me tell you. Some time ago I received an invite to a Little Burgundy store opening here in Calgary. I was so excited! I’d never been invited to an event before. And there would be other bloggers there, and I was going to get out of the house without a two year old in tow, and there was going to be food and I was going to be allowed to snag anything I wanted from the store for no charge – I was hoping to find a pair of shoes for my big, wide feet. How could I say no to free shoes right? I couldn’t.
I was really looking forward to it.
And then the date was announced and we were to be out of town! Ahhhhh! I mourned the loss of my big free shoes. I was very sad about not getting to meet other real live bloggers in person. But we were going on holiday and would be hours and hours away from town on that day. There was no way I could make it.
And theeeeeeeeeen, the super awesome rep who arranged it all told me I could still go. Horay! And I could still shop for free. Yay! And I could bring a friend. Yippee!
And suddenly all was right in my world, at least I thought so. I grabbed my sister and we headed down to Market Mall. We arrived at the store when the tiniest, cutest, little person met us – her name was Sarah and she was a treat. She gave us a tour of the store and helped suggest things for us to try on.
I fell in love. The kind of shoe love that you only feel once in a blue moon when you see the pair which marries all necessary elements shoes require. Style, function, mega soft leather, everything was perfect. Except I’m a freak with monster huge feet! I adored these boots. They had ample cankle room, a low heel for chasing after a racing pre-schooler and they were beautiful. Oh so beautiful. But only available up to size 10. I needed a 10.5. The horror! Did you know my feet grew a whole size since I had little H? It’s true, and ever since I’ve had mega trouble finding shoes to fit. 10.5 wide is a difficult size and though I tried on almost every pair which appealed to me, I didn’t luck out finding any shoes.
My sister did though. She found two pairs of really fun sneakers and I ended up with this piece of gorgeousness which will be perfect on my upcoming trip to Chicago. It’s just the right carry-on size and I know I’ll be able to tote loads of stuff around in it. If you’re in Calgary, check out the new Little Burgundy store in Market Mall and if you’re not, take a surf over to their website. Even if you’re a monster footed freak like me, you’ll still find something to swoon over AND they have a free shipping deal on right now so go on…get going!

Awww man, that sucks. From one big footed woman to another, I feel your pain sister.
Shoes, shoes, shoes!!
How we love em..
You will get yours soon girl
LMAO “monster footed freak” you know that now when someone googles that you are gonna be #1 LOL
One of my very good friends is a size 11. So you’re not alone. I will say though, that my feet range from a 9-10 (depending on the shoe and maker) and it’s HARD to find shoes in my size. They either don’t make them, or every other woman wears the same size I do. I haven’t figured it out yet.
I am so sorry but that bag is fabulous! Love it.
my feet have grown since having kids too! & there’s no exercise that will make them go back!
that bag is a beauty though!
Oh that sucks! I’m sorry!
My feet grew a half size too as a side effect from my pregnancy so all my cute strappy heels no longer fit so I kinda feel your pain. Cute tote though!
I am a 10 1/2 wide, too. LOL Big footed women ROCK! We’re all very talented and smart but unfortunately footwear challenged.
That bag is gorgeous, though.
where are all these average sized shoe people? Anyway, I think the pink bag is gorgeous and if it were me, I’d be saying to myself that it’s a lot harder to ruin
