Hwy 5a outside of Merritt BC

We’re back from our holidays and I’m trying to pull things together before I have to head back to work on Tuesday so today’s muse is short and sweet.  Our vacation took us on a road trip from Calgary out to the west coast – Comox Valley BC.

During our travels, we ended up a bit – misplaced.  We intended to take highway #5, but instead ended up on #5a.  The twisted, narrow road took us past one of the most beautiful lakes I’ve ever seen in my life.  Bright cerulean blue water, surrounded by impossibly green grasses and beyond that was scorched scrubby brush.  The lake shone like no other in the midst of it’s dead surroundings like a blink of life making itself known to passers by.

My horrid photog skills only managed to snap a few shots through the windshield and they do not do justice to what we saw in real life.  Today, I’m reminding you to take the road less traveled once in a while and see what you can see.

What’s inspiring  you this week?  Share!  I promise to come by and comment this week and my apologies to those of you who participated in past weeks and didn’t see a comment from me.  We were truly on hiatus and I fell out of the bloggy groove ;)
