Pretty Red Bundt – A Storage Story.

Pretty Red Bundt

I’ve always loved the fluted, decorative look of bundt pans and today I bought one.  It’s just a cheapy from the grocery store but I thought it was pretty none the less.  I do plan to bake with it (watch for that post soon.)

Anyway, we bought the bundt and brought it home and I realized it was going to be awkward to store.  It’s big and bulbous and has that vent in the center which means it won’t ‘nest’ with anything else.

I decided it would look great hung up on the wall and though it’s pretty simple to do, I thought maybe you might want instructions on how to do it.

I think a collection of vintage ones would look amazing all clustered together, don’t you?

Alas, I only have the one…maybe I’ll have to go searching for a few more in complementary colors.

Did you hear that?  That was the hubs rolling his eyes and praying he’s out of the country on the day I embark on that endeavor!

How to Decorate with Bundt Pans

You’ll need:

  • a Bundt Pan
  • a length of ribbon (mine was about 24 inches before I trimmed it)
  • a nail in the wall

Step #1 – double your length of ribbon over and thread it through the vent stack of your bundt pan.

Step #2 – Bring the ‘tail’ over the pan and pass it through the loop.

Step #3 – Pull to tighten the ribbon around your pan.  You’ll want to position the knot at the lip as shown.

Step #4 – Create a loop in the ribbon so you’ll have somewhere to hang it.  I did this by making a slip knot.  Start by wrapping the ribbon around your finger twice.

Step #5 – Place loop 1 above loop 2

Step #6 -  pick up loop 2 and maneuver it over top of loop 1 and off your finger.

Step #7 – Pull it taught around your finger and voila!  A loop magically appears!

Step#7 – place your loop over the nail in your wall.  I tied the loose ends in a bow and trimmed them to a nice length at this point.  You could omit the bow if you wanted and just let the ends dangle…it looks nice that way too.

You can hang it on either side depending on what you like best…just fiddle with your ribbon and move the base knot until the pan lies nice and flat against the wall.  Here is how it looks with the round side to the wall.

There you go, and easy and pretty way to store the awkward bundt pans in your life !

I need more kitchen stuff like I need a hole in my head. My husband would also roll his eyes and pray he was out of the country if I decided to embark on such a venture.

    I think it’s lovely! What a great idea :)

Love this idea! We have plaster walls and I try to avoid nails where possible. The 3M hanger thingies would look great too.

I think it looks adorable. I love the idea and never would have though of it.

Well aren’t you clever!? I have some bundt pans that I never use. Maybe I’ll hang them on my wall. :)

Heather, when I see a bundt pan I immediately think of my mom’s chocolate chip cake. It’s the dessert that my brother always requests when he goes home for a visit and it’s the dessert that never fails to please. I just may have to blog about it and link to your post for inspirational credit! :)
