Living in Calgary means we are surrounded with entertainment the likes of which can’t always be found in small towns. The city wide Canada Day celebrations offered up free petting zoos, pony rides, music, entertainment and much more. Yes, that’s the upside. The downside is -
The line for the petting zoo at Fort Calgary was equally as long as were the lines for hotdogs and portajohns. What’s Canada Day with out the very Canadian act of waiting in line? Right? Thankfully, Little H was oblivious to it all – a side effect of her floppy hat. She felt the music was much too loud so she was happy to take a walk around in the field while waving her little paper flag and then go home. We did enjoy the singing of ‘Oh Canada’ and the raising of the flag in the East Village and really, that was the most important part. Next year, I’m driving out to one of the smaller surrounding towns to enjoy Canada Day with less crowding!
