The Closest I’ll Get to Calling Myself a Ninja

Blogging is a labour of love.  I sat down yesterday and figured out how much money I’ve made and what that means for an hourly rate.  I made $0.25/hour last year.

It’s safe to say I don’t do this for the money.

Most bloggers are in the same boat as me.  We work, work, work and our only reward is a comment here and a tweet there showing us that someone out there is reading.

That’s what makes the Canadian Weblog Awards so special.

The awards are run by Ninjamatics and Schmutzie and they work very hard too.  It’s a juried process and entrants go through rounds of judging.

So when I got an email this morning that I’d won first place in the Parenting category (which had over 80 nominees) I about passed out!

First? Me? Really?

2011 Canadian Weblog Awards winners

One of the best things about this is being exposed to some awesome new (to me) blogs.  Second place in the Parenting category is held by Coffee with Julie and third is Under the High Chair.  Both of which look outstanding.  Congrats to them and the rest of the CWA winners ninjas!

  1. Well deserved. A big thank you to the organizers for introducing me to your blog. I shared your category for nominations – I’m glad it went to someone so deserving.

    • Thank you so much – there were SO many great blogs on the shortlist, I’m sure the judges had a tough time choosing the winners. Congrats on your win as well!

    • Congrats to you as well Julie! I’m so glad to have been introduced to you and so many awesome blogs via the CWAs!
