I had the extreme pleasure of going behind the scenes of We Day here in Calgary. Telus, who sponsors We Day, brought myself and a couple of other bloggers through all the nooks and crannies of the Saddledome to document all that was going on with a fab new Samsung Galaxy S III smartphone*.
To say that it impacted me has been a huge understatement. Well…here’s my first ever vlog to explain what I mean. Sorry for the tears. This is why I’m a writer and not a talker.
Here is a shot of us bloggers and the ever inspiring Spencer West.

We also had the privilege of meeting Molly and her dog Gypsy. I am just so impressed at the conviction such a young person can have. To be passionate about life and a cause at her age is just something that inspires me to keep doing what I love to do. Molly also spoke to us about how she was bullied and how it made her not want to keep on living. She over came so much and now she’s helping others do the same. She says she wants to be someone’s hope so when another young person feels like there’s nobody in their shoes -she can show them that there is. She’s brilliant and we were lucky to hear her speak even if it was just for a little while.
You can learn more about Spencer, Molly and the rest of the Free the Children, Me to We and We Day organizations HERE.
I also want to tell you about Telus and their $25 for Free the Children program because without their sponsorship We Day certainly wouldn’t be what it is nationally. If you’re interested in purchasing a Samsung Galaxy S III (which I’m so in love with!) they’ll give $25 to Free the Children. You can learn more HERE.
*Telus provided me with a Samsung phone at no charge to facilitate this post
Heather you are an amazing mom and will do just fine. You just expose Hannah to all the goodness in the world and the rest will fall into place. ((hugs)) momma. It was awesome to see you in “real life!” <3
thanks Rhea! I supposed that’s key – exposure. And I fully intend to do that 🙂
H,
A beautiful vlog. I had tears with you as I watched it with Vivian and William. And what a day We Day was. Molly and Spencer are amazing individuals.
I’m just so happy to have a tiny part in sharing their message. Thanks for watching.
Great vlog, Heather, and such a valuable message to all of us moms. We Day has made me very emotional too and I think it will stick with me and help shape this next phase of my life.
I don’t know if I’d have made it through the whole day! I barely survived behind the scenes. I hope you had lots of tissue!
Great Vlog!! Just wanted to mention… you have already gotten started… you are teaching your children with every thing you do. You are an awesome mom!
thanks Michelle 🙂
I was afraid to even watch you vlog because I didn’t want to cry! hugs! <3
We Day sounds like a great event. Your vlog is so heartfelt. Awesome!
Yay! I finally got to hear Heather! You did a lovely job and don’t worry about the tears, that’s what makes it real. 🙂
Spencer is incredibly amazing and I can easily see how you were so inspired by him, he is truly an inspiration to us all!
You’ve got a big heart lady. Your daughter will get it. You will make sure she does.
