It’s Not All Fun and Games People

burnt pot

This is what happened when I tried to steam some squash and carrots.  I forgot the burner on high and sat down to chat with my hubby while the veggies steamed.  It happens to the best of us.  This fiasco also accompanied the driest crock pot pork roast I’ve ever tasted in my life.  We ended up going out to eat.  Thought I’d share this as a reminder that sometimes, things just don’t come together and it’s no big deal.  It’s ok. Life goes on.  Also, I need to buy new pots.  😉

What’s your most recent disaster story?

  1. Oh man, I did exactly that two weeks ago. Except it was pears (for the baby). Total disastrous, icky mess and it took us two weeks to get the pot clean. I blame that for the prolonged series of incidents that followed (but they were much more gross so let’s not talk about that).

  2. Hi Heather!
I love your website. It’s incredible!
Many years ago happened a disaster in my mommy’s kitchen. She had done a “brigadeiro” (it’s a delicious Brazilian candy) and it was too hot. We were children and we ran to pick up a spoon full of candy, when it spilled on the foot of my little friend Marina. She had some burnings in her foot. What a pity! My mother was very sad because she didn’t warn us the candy was hot.
    Kisses from Brazil!

  3. Oy vey. 🙂 I made a meal recently that was a complete disaster from start to finish. It does happen to the best of us, that’s why it good to keep your sense of humour and local pizza number handy 🙂
