We’ve gone to this fantastic Heritage Park event two years running now and I’m so excited to be going again this year. Last year, Baby N was pretty small…this year, he’s going to recognize Thomas from TV and he’s going to freak out…in a good way I hope 😉
This event sells out every year so if you think you want to go, get your tickets NOW.
I’m not kidding…don’t wait or you won’t get any tickets.
Tickets are on sale now by calling toll-free 1-888.222.6608 or logging onto www.ticketweb.ca/dowt.
If you’re not familiar with the Day Out with Thomas event or Heritage Park here in Calgary, here’s the scoop.
Heritage Park has a beautiful old steam engine. They put a real life sized Thomas ‘mock’ engine on the front of the train so the steam engine pushes it. Your child will see a big, beautiful, blue #1 Thomas running around the track all day. They can ride in a train passenger car pulled by Thomas. They can hear him ‘toot toot’ They’ll see the engineer waving from the window. IT IS AMAZING for little kids to see.
In addition to all that, they have loads of activities for the kids to take part in. It’s a whole day of activity and well worth the $21 for a ticket (under 2 is free)
Here’s my 2010 post – the review includes a video of Thomas the Train in action.
And here’s my 2011 post – this one shows a bit more of the beauty of Heritage Park.
What are you still doing here? Go get your tickets! Quick!
what fun! We went to our local event for years – I was actually a bit sad when the kiddo decided he was too old 🙂 Have a great time

I read your previous years’ posts. . .looks like something that kids can look forward to seeing/experiencing for many years! I really loved going to Heritage Park as a child, and went several times a year.
Ooo, thanks for the heads up! At 2.5 I think my son is finally old enough to enjoy this. Totally buying tickets this year!
They have this in SD as well. I said I would go after reading last years post and I didnt go. Need to do this before the little guy out grows Thomas..
